The first thing we notice about Yoko Chimanja who plays Izukanji on #ZMMakofi is her wonderful sense of humour. 

Us:What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Yoko:Open my eyes, lol. 

She later admits that she reaches for her phone, but that is something she is hoping to change. How many of us can relate to this? Plenty, without a doubt! Here’s more of what we found out about Yoko in our exclusive chat. 

What do you think makes up good storytelling? 

A good plot twist, for sure! That moment you didn't see coming, but yet it makes so much sense. Also, love. There's nothing like a good love story with an epic twist.

How do you separate the two worlds: your on-screen life and your off-screen life?

I'm a very private person off-screen, so the compartmentalising of the two just happens naturally for me.

Who is the one actor or actress you would want to star alongside? 

Definitely Anita Munamonga. I love her work ethic and skill set, and Leo Simukoko. I think our chemistry would be electric.

If you were not an actress, what would you be doing?

I'd be a housewife. I think it's the best job ever.

Who inspires you on a daily? 

The kindness of human beings and their ability to do amazing things when they work together. 

What advice would you give to your future self? 

Simple one: Roll with the punches!
